Crostini is not just toasted bread - as it's presented here in the USA. Crostini looks like toasted bread but it's far more sophisticated than that. Slices of bread and rubbed with Extra Virgin Olive Oil and garlic, then placed into the crostini maker where jets of flame toast the outside of the bread while leaving the center steamy and soft. It's a textural experience for the mouth.
In order to make real Italian, Tuscan, Roman crostini you need a crostini maker you need a crostini Maker .
